Towaco’s 9th Annual Jazz Festival, and the TCA’s 2nd Annual sponsorship of the event, was a resounding success thanks to all the participants, especially to our official sponsor, the Atlantic Stewardship Bank, whose generosity made this event possible.  A special thank you to the TCA Jazz Fest committee: John Rosellini, Carmela Novi, Nils Stranskov, Kathy Fisher, Dr. Karen Cortellino, Alex Pena, Tom Happle, Tom Asfor, and Ed Alstrom who worked tirelessly on the preparations for the day’s events.

The weather was not kind to us on Saturday, but the Sunday rain date was beautiful and attendance was great.  There was excellent music all day, good food, civic organizations, crafts and other fine vendors.  Most of all, there was community spirit and neighbors meeting neighbors.  The Jazz Fest often brings folks together who have not seen each other all year as well as people from all areas of the Township to share in Towaco’s finest day.

We are ever thankful to the Montville Police Department, the Towaco Fire Department, the Montville Explorers, the Montville DPW and NJ Transit for their assistance and guidance.  Also, we thank the Township Committee for its support.

Reilly Park Renovation Complete
I am reporting on the work that has been accomplished at Reilly Park this year and the efforts of the TCA with cooperation of the Township.  Two new park benches were installed as a result of TCA members that contributed the necessary funds for the benches.  We have installed recognition plaques on the benches that can be seen in the photos. The TCA members that contributed the materials for the benches are to be commended for their generosity and community spirit. The TCA is also paying to continue the fencing along the front of the park.  Some of our members will take on the responsibility to plant seasonal flowers and plantings around the park sign similar to the Welcome to Montville signs seen around the Township.
